In as much as I don’t want the government telling me what choices to make in my personal life (hi, right to choose!!!), I don’t really get why being unfaithful to his wife translates to resigning.

When a job requires secrecy, trust, or being a “moral figurehead” they need to go. In some situations I don’t care. Especially if they own up to it. If Wiener didn’t lie about it I would be more than okay with him remaining in office. Lie? Good bye.
